FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long should I book entertainment for?
There is no easy answer to this question, it can depend on your budget, how many people you wish to be drawn or how long you wish us to entertain your guests. Generally though:
For corporate functions Brad is often booked for his roving caricatures and comedy magic AND his stageshow. Other times they may book him for roving caricatures and magic only for 3 hours. It really depends on the size of the company and the event. Brad also works with other entertainers if required.
At trade shows and conferences, the same really applies. Brad has taken whole days bookings and also short bookings just in the peak times. He has entertained at trade shows and conferences Australia wide.
At engagement parties and weddings, the standard booking is the whole reception. We are often at these events for longer so as to provide everybody with a caricature 'bonbonierre' which is becoming more common with our caricatures.
Do you walk around the room drawing or do you stay in one spot?
At night functions, Brad is pure entertainment! Whether he has the 'cartoonist' or ' magician' hat on, he walks around involving as many people in the fun as he can. At most functions he is surrounded by guests as they watch his every move.
In retail settings or corporate fun days, he may take a seat and really pump out the caricatures as quickly as possible to keep the long line of people happy.
But our function is at a restaurant. What happens then?
Easy! Just let the restaurant know we are coming. Brad has drawn at functions in formal restaurants such as Doyles, The Waterfront (Rocks), Prunia's (Edgecliff), L'Aqua (Darling Harbour) and it has always gone smoothly. In fact the staff are always co-operative and often want to get involved - and they ALWAYS want a drawing themselves.
How many people do you draw during a function?
Brad draws approximately 15 people per hour in black and white. Most people opt for black and white caricatures as they want as many guests as possible to be drawn.
What happens to the caricatures?
The simple answer? Whatever YOU want.
At corporate functions/tradeshows they are often taken back to the office and put straight up on the office workstation. At birthdays, the caricatures drawn of your guests are often signed by your guests along with best wishes and kept in a memories folder.
At engagement parties and weddings they are usually given to the guests to keep (a great bonbonierre). Regardless of the function, we can 'brand' the caricatures with a company name and logo, details of the event, or wedding celebration message so that your guests remember the great time they had at your function.
